This unique vessel was hand-built by Alex - a Russian born hydraulic engineer from Thornhill, Ontario and a huge enthusiast of Muskoka, who dreamed about bringing a unique Finnish sauna experience to the region.
The sauna is based on a triple-hull pontoon boat and is 26 feet long making it ideal to entertain up to 10 guests.
During the design stage, Alex had realized that some of the bridges on Muskoka Lakes would be too low for the sauna to pass under, so he thought of a “transformer” roof.
The sauna itself was built by a Finnish Sauna craftsman Jari Makivirta from Innisfil, Ontario. When Alex approached Jari with his idea, he was blown away and together they’ve formulated a sketch which eventually turned into a reality.
You can find Alex’s floating sauna on famous Muskoka, Joseph and Rosseau lakes, mostly hanging out at the Muskoka Lakes Marine on lake Rosseau.
4-hour relaxing cruise on lake Rosseau. You can bring your own drinks or order food & drinks from us. There is a gas grill on-board and we will be happy to offer you a hot meal.
The price is $75 per person. Max 8 people.
We will be happy to bring our sauna to your water-front cottage on Muskoka Lakes for private parties and events. Rental is $150/hour. Minimum 4-hours rental plus delivery fee, depending on your cottage location.
